Proudly created by Cornish Lithium in 2019, this event has grown to be one of the most important sustainable mining, investment and energy innovation conferences in the UK.
With activities spanning a total of four days, there are ample opportunities for site visits, networking suppers and specialist meeting forums.
The event also hosts a number of specialist forums and seminars covering key topics within the mining industry.
One such example was this year’s Geothermal Forum, where industry professionals, researchers, and representatives from academia came together to discuss ongoing projects, share knowledge, and explore future opportunities and developments within the sector.
A number of speaker sessions are presented throughout the conference by a range of industry professionals and experts.
These include short three-minute company introductions, detailed project presentations, and addresses from industry investors, providing attendees with valuable insights into current developments, opportunities, and trends within the mining and exploration sector.
Axial Exploration and Drilling Supplies Ltd Director, Nitesh Patel, and UCP Africa PTY Ltd Director, Grant Wilson, were delighted to have the opportunity to exhibit at this year’s UK Mining Conference.
The event brought together a wide range of industry-leading organisations from across the UK, Europe, and beyond, all gathering in what is arguably one of the most beautiful locations in the country – Cornwall.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity not only to meet face-to-face under one roof, but also to discuss the future of the mining industry, exchange ideas, and strengthen existing relationships. Importantly, these conversations were driven by those working directly within the sector – the people operating at the very heart of the industry, both above and below ground.
The UK Mining Conference in Cornwall is a proud supporter of both educational and inclusive initiatives within the mining sector.
Among the many esteemed exhibitors were representatives from the Camborne School of Mines, promoting geology and earth sciences not only for today, but for the future. As the demand for critical minerals continues to grow, the mining industry will increasingly rely on the next generation of geologists, engineers, and earth scientists from all backgrounds and walks of life.
In addition, representatives from Women in Mining were also in attendance, highlighting the important role women continue to play throughout the industry. From administration and project management to technical and field-based roles, every individual contributes to the success of the sector, with all parts working together towards a common goal.
The event was notable even before it began, gaining traction and popularity thanks to the ‘MineCycle’ charity bike ride which took place in the two weeks prior.
Taken on by Paul Freeman of the University of Cardiff, and Dom Barraclough of Finch Consulting. The pair took off from their starting position in the highlands of Scotland. Bidding farewellto Fraser Gardiner and his team at Aberdeen minerals.
Cycling all the way down to the Princess Pavillion in Falmouth. The hosting place of the UK Mining Conference. Stopping along the way at numerous spots tied to the industry, such as universities, quarries, mines and offices.
All for the greater good, as they raised over £7000 for the Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital.
