Munsell Rock Colour Guide offers you the ability to determine a rock or strata or rocks within the field by colour alone. By using communication by colour, geologists and archaeologists can easily narrow down samples and outcrops with ease. The binder contains 115 Munsell notations, viewable by colour. This is done by cross-referencing ISCC-NBS color names with Munsell’s industry-known, alpha-numeric color system.
The colour notations include: 5R, 10R, 5YR, 10YR, 5Y, 10Y, 5GY, 10GY, 5G, 10G, 5BG, 5B, 5PB, 5P, 5RP, 5YR, 5Y, 5GY, 5G, 5B + nine neutral grey tones. These are on waterproof and washable cards. Which is necessary for field work where the weather is not always favorable. In addition, you can use this feature to pulverise rock and aggregate in the field down to grit. Further, you can either smear it dry or wet across the pages. Further allows you to compare the colours of the rock and that in the guide side by side. Therefore making determining rock easier and more accurate.
The Munsell Rock Colour Guide holds all of these pages within a small ring binder, the pages can be taken out or placed back. As and when required. Suitable for various field and laboratory applications. It is a necessity for geologists, archaeologists, geotechnical engineers, students, and academics.
