Estwing E3-23LP rock pick is a long handle geological hammer for geologists, professionals, drillers, and hobbyists. Ideal for use on mineral exploration projects, core drilling sites, and fossil or mineral collecting.

It features a head with a pointed tip. Ideal for chipping and prying rock, or extracting fossils samples and crystals. On the opposite side, one will find the usual, flat striking face. The Estwing E3-23LP rock pick has a moderate-weight head, though the handle adds additional weight. This can make the hammer difficult to control and two hands when using would be beneficial. However, the long handle provides the added benefit of great prying force. As users can get more leverage when trying to part rocks, nodules, or building materials apart. The shaft and head are brushed steel, which is lacquered to improve the shelf life and appearance.

Like other Estiwng tools, it features a single piece of double-tempered American steel. The weight is around 23 ounces or 650 grams. The handle features  blue shock reduction vinyl which provides user comfort with each strike. Furthermore, the handle has a pitted texture and ergonomic shape and design. This improves comfort and grip for the user.
