The Picard pointed tip geologist hammer is ideal for geological field work such as sample collecting. Manufactured in Germany from a single piece of forged steel, the head features both a pointed tip for prying and extracting and a flat face for pulverising rock and aggregate. With a head weight of 1 lbs and an ergonomic vinyl grip to reduce fatigue and vibrations. This is an excellent pick to rival others.

Picard Geologist Hammer Pick with pointed tip head. From Piccard tools in Germany, it features an excellent quality steel construction. Making it tough for field work, breaking or chipping down rock. Including hard rocks such as marbles, granites and so on.

 

The Picard geologist hammer pick has a 500 gram (1 lbs ) head weight, (761 grams including the handle). The flat side of the face allows you to crush and pulverise rock down. Where as the pointed pick side will give you the ability to chip smaller pieces of material off of a sample or outcrop. Furthermore, it will allow you to pick away and extract crystals and fossils or use as a pry. Making this model suitable for geological field work. Such as on mapping projects, academic projects for sample collecting as well as mining and drilling projects.

 

The hammer measures a total length of 320 mm and is made from a single piece of alloyed PICARD steel which has been carefully hardened and tempered to produce a tough, long lasting strike tool. The handle features a two part ergonomic vinyl grip, for better comfort in ones hand during use and reduces impact vibrations.
