KT-20 Magnetic Susceptibility Meter

SKU: KT20_

The KT-20 is a handheld console with different modules for measuring the magnetic susceptibility, conductivity, chargeability & resistivity, and density of a sample. Its modular design allows the KT-20 to be available in many configurations of measurement capabilities, and new modules or upgrades can be added at anytime. A range of sensors with different shapes and frequencies are available for the KT-20. Users can interchange the sensors on the console, allowing the KT-20 to be adapted to different sizes and types of samples, or used in various applications. The KT-20 console includes a number of built-in features to increase the amount of information that can be added to a measurement record. These features include a GPS receiver to obtain coordinates of the measurement, digital camera to photograph the sample, a microphone to record voice notes, and a virtual keyboard to enter text notes.

The KT‐20 magnetic susceptibility meter can measure the magnetic susceptibility and/or conductivity or density of a mineral ore, aggregate rock or core sample. Its modular design gives users the ability to swap out and employ different sensors that work at optimal frequency for either magnetic susceptibility or conductivity or depending on the size of the sample being monitored. Density measurements can also be obtained from the meter providing users with more information about what is being observed. Photo, audio note, text notes and map coordinates/grid reference can also be added to the measurements taken to increase the amount of information users can attach to each record to improving archiving. All of this is achieved by the built in 2 megapixel camera, GPS receiver, colour LCD display and also can transmit data via USB or bluetooth. Over all, this magnetic susceptibility meter is an all in one instrument which fits into your hand. Other features of the KT-20 meter include induced polarization/resistivity sensor, a large 32 cm diameter pole sensor, increased ranges, (compared to the KT10), calibration pads and can measures a maximum sample weight with a density of up to 1 kg. The KT-20, unlike it’s predecessor, the KT-10, comes with 5 optional sensors and configurations, these are:

  • 10 kHz Single Frequency Sensor – Circular Coil
  • 10/100 kHz Dual Frequency Sensor – Circular Coil
  • 1/10 kHz Dual Frequency Sensor – Rectangular Coil
  • 3F-32, Three Frequency, 32 cm Diameter Sensor with Pole, Arm support, cable and case
  • IP Induced Polarisation/resistivity Sensor with IP/Resistivity electroncics, cables and sample holder
