Brunton Transit Compass clinometer is a well-known precision instrument for geological, mining, surveying and mineral exploration use. However, it also boasts features that make is applicable in other sectors. Including forestry, surveying, geotechnical engineering and more. The dial can come in both azimuth or quadrant, both of which are +/- 1/2˚ w/ 1˚ graduations. It features an internal bubble level clinometer ranging from 0˚ to 90˚ in 1˚ increments. Ideal for mapping, prospecting, and measuring, such as: strike and dip, trend and plunge, dip and dip direction, and bearing and angles. Additionally, this can take slope angles and height readings, such as that of trees. Its ergonomic shape and design mean the instrument sits comfortably in the palm of your hand. Making data collection whilst out in the field faster and easier while maintaining accuracy.

  • DISCLAIMER: All Brunton Transits are generally not kept as stock and take approx 4 to 5 days for delivery. Due to the various magnetic zones available. The Brunton Transit Compass contains an accurate NdFeB disc magnet for directional readings which further, resists demagnetization. In addition, this has high accuracy due to the sapphire jewel bearing and further, the declination is adjustable ±180. An internal bubble level ensures a level of instruments, ensuring accurate readings. The needle can also be locked into position should you require it, adding to the ease of use when taking readings. Particularly if you are in an enclosed or awkward position or environment.

The instrument also comes with a buckhorn sighting arm and sighting mirror for performing triangulation, height readings, slope angles and percentile scales. Notches along the body sides allow for securing the device to a Brunton tripod and ball and socket mount. Furthermore, all precision mechanisms are within a robust alloy housing. Meaning it is tough and ready for field, survey, mine and forestry use.
